I discovered my love for interior design at the young age of 11. Having moved frequently during my childhood, I learned the importance of making a new place feel like home — fast. That experience shaped my design philosophy today: to create approachable, functional, and cozy spaces that instantly feel lived-in and loved.

After earning my Bachelor's degree from Texas State University, and Master's degree from The University of Texas at Austin, I worked as a Public Health Nurse serving Austin's underserved and vulnerable population. 

Shortly after my son was born in 2024, so was Kimberly Stone Design, LLC (KSD). With the newfound appreciation that life is too short not to chase your dreams, I pivoted to pursue my lifelong love of design. Armed with the compassion, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills honed in healthcare, I now bring those same values into every home I touch. Furthermore, to enhance my technical skills and knowledge, I am in the process of earning my Interior Design Certificate from NYIAD.

I live in Austin, Texas with my husband, son, and miniature poodle — who keep me laughing, loved, and are always cheering me on.
